About me

I am Associate Professor of Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy at William Paterson University, where I direct the Laboratory for Research in the Logical Sciences. My previous appointment was at Howard University. I earned my Ph.D. in philosophy from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York for a dissertation entitled "Interpretation in the black speech community," and my B.S. in biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. While at Rensselaer I also took an M.S. in philosophy for a thesis entitled "The logic of body propositions."

My research interests are in problems in symbolic logic, with varied applications of logic to neurobiology, semantics, and legal theory; problems in abstract algebra and metaphysics; and philosophical problems arising in the history of black American thought.

I divide my time between New York City and New York’s Hudson Valley.
